Was just remembering my old days, today. It was 5th march of this year. After walking for 3 miles in the scorching weather, I and my friend Shivee reached Asha Kiran, an orphanage for girls at Bhubaneswar run by Slajus.
As we entered there, we saw little girls eating boiled potatoes and rice happily. At that moment we felt ashamed of complaining abou the food we eat.
We asked a girl if she knew since when she is here, but she was unaware of it. My partner asked her does she knows about her mom and dad. And the girl gave a carefree no, in answer. She did not even seem to know about what is the importance of parents in one’s life. For her and many other girls like her, family meant the home of Asha Kiran and they only know one relation, the relation they had with their care takers.
The girls had only one brother, Shishir kumar, a speech and hearing impaired person. We talked to him in written. Happy and content with whatever he has, he looks after all the girls there. He even studies in 2nd year Arts in a nearby college.
We have always complained and seen people complaining about their lives. But only a single meeting with them has made us realize how lucky we are. If you still think, you have too much pain to bear, we would request you to visit them and look at their smiling faces.
These people gave us the best lesson of our lives :
LIFE IS NOT ABOUT GETTING THE BEST FOR YOURSELF...
IT IS ABOUT BEING AT YOUR BEST WITH WHATEVER YOU GET...
